Coming from a family, where two generations had to navigate huge obstacles from two World Wars and rebuilt their lives in the former DDR (East Germany) and following the fall of the Berlin wall, Kathin has always been profoundly aware of how her family's experiences shaped her identity.
On the WOMEN’S HUB stage, Kathrin wants to honor and celebrate especially her maternal ancestors for their unwavering courage in the face of adversity, and their indelible playful heart that guarded them as they bore their difficult fate. This same playfulness was once omnipresent in her too, and literally led her to dance through childhood, until challenging circumstances dulled her natural enthusiasm during her teenage years, and her colorful world turned gray.
Now, one and half decades later, Kathrin is reconnecting to the boldness and vibrancy of her ancestors. She reclaims back her playful part and uses it as fuel for her mission to train people in Nonviolent Communication as a way to build bridges and foster more meaningful connections in an ever more polarized world.
